Master Brown began studying martial arts in 1993 under the instruction of Mr. Tim Harben. She is a founding member of the martial arts club which eventually became Cornerstone Martial Arts. Master Brown achieved the rank of 1st dan in August of 1998, and she took over leadership of the school in January 1999. Master Brown studied Sam Chong Sa, a combination of Taekwondo, Hapkido and Judo, under the late Grandmaster Gary Hayes, and she achieved the rank of 4th dan in both WTF Taekwondo and Sam Chong Sa in April 2008. In May of 2016, Master Brown was promoted to the rank of 5th dan by Master Robert Stone.
Master Brown feels that ongoing study is essential to being an outstanding instructor. She currently is studying Taekwondo under the instruction of Master Robert Stone, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under Master Caleb Holland, and Jeok Tong Je Hapkido under the instruction of Master Rich Van Doorn.
Master Brown is honored to be able to work with all of our students from the youngest to the oldest, from the lowest rank to the highest. She enjoys all aspects of running Cornerstone from planning classes to coaching or officiating at tournaments. But most importantly, she enjoys spending time with the Cornerstone "family" every week.
Master Brown is a graduate of Milligan College and a member of Snellville Christian Church.
Master Paul Brown began his martial arts journey in 1999, and he achieved the rank of 4th dan in 2012. He has served as an instructor and member of Chi Rho, our demonstration team, but his real passion is competition.
Master Brown began with personal competition. He has won numerous local, regional and national championships in Olympic Sparring, Point Sparring and Forms. He has gone on to lead our competitors to many additional championships.
Master Brown is Master Cathy Brown's brother, and he is happily married to his wife Lisa.
